Amenities at Bent Tree

When you buy at Bent Tree you get more than just a home . . .

Has traffic gridlock, noise, crime, and air pollution of the city gotten you down?  Do you wish for a quieter, more relaxed pace in a wooded, natural setting where there is time for personal friendships without having to give up the convenience of shopping, major-league sports, fine dining, culture, art and entertainment?

At Bent Tree you can have it all!  Only one hour from Atlanta, a vibrant, growing city with an international flavor. from the moment you drive through the gated entryway under a canopy of trees, you will begin to experience the relaxation that comes with the mountain way of life. Whether your Bent Tree home affords a sixty-mile view of the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, or a sixty-yard view of the seventh fairway, you will feel like the rat race is a thousand miles away. Here at Bent Tree, some of Mother Nature's finest efforts are on display, and you don't have to travel half a day or more to get there.

Bent Tree owes its name to its Indian heritage.  Vaguely reminiscent to the "Hansel and Gretel" fairy tale, the Creeks and Cherokees found this place of beauty and peace long ago.  Legend has it that they bent "trail trees" to show the way for others to follow.  The Bent Tree community takes its name from these silent markers.  Its heritage springs from the winding foot paths, the towering pines and hardwoods, the wildlife and wild flowers that bear witness to the Creeks, Cherokees and tribes that came before them to make their homes.

The Bent Tree community is a nonprofit organization whose ownership is limited solely to its property owners.  In the late eighty's, the courts awarded Bent Tree's property owners the entire community and is therefore self-owned and governed. A professional property manager with a background in local government supervises the daily activities at Bent Tree. Auditors and government inspectors are highly complimentary of Bent Tree operations, including fiscal policies, water purity, dam safety and grounds maintenance. All equipment is paid for and owned by Bent Tree (fire trucks, utility and security vehicles, maintenance equipment, golf carts, etc.). All common buildings and facilities are maintained and owned by Bent Tree. Our community is currently operating, and has a history of operating "in the black". We operate within our budget and have a considerable reserve fund designed to meet future growth needs, and to cover any unexpected emergency needs.

With noticeably sweet, fresh, invigorating mountain air, all four seasons are exceptional for their display of natural beauty. Temperatures generally range from five to ten degrees below Atlanta's average. The winter months will usually bring a few light snows - rarely enough to close roads or to be a great inconvenience, but just enough to enjoy. Our maintenance personnel are quick to snowplow our roads if needed.
